The first big push of the season has begun! Following Memorial Day weekend, we roll into the Member-Member with our staff working hard to ensure the golf course is in peak performance for these great weekends of golf.
Similar to planning for a big event at home, the crew has spent weeks planning and executing processes that will lead to an optimized golf course over the next 7-10 days. We are also actively adjusting to our annual Spring weather shifts just to make things a little more interesting. During the week leading up to the Member / Member, the finer details of the course are being addressed. Irrigation heads are being trimmed around, all the out of way areas are being trimmed, and all divots are being filled. Most of the playing surfaces are responding to the agronomic plan and are in great shape for the upcoming summer heat. The greens are really beginning to respond to our recently implemented program and we are hopeful to see continued improvement in our already outstanding putting surfaces. To help further improve the health of our greens, small coring aeration will be performed during the week of June 3rd. This process will establish micro & macro pore space for our greens to breath during the upcoming summer. It will also be a great opportunity to incorporate some soil amendments that have been recommended by our Spring soil testing. This process should be completely healed the following week...and the greens will run true that weekend. Comments are closed.
